In which of the given year(s) was the production of B type refrigerator closest to its average production over the given years?

Accepted Answer

Step 1: Extract production data for B type refrigerator for each year:
2011: 1800
2012: 1890
2013: 1910
2014: 1940
2015: 1960

Step 2: Calculate the average production of B type refrigerator over the 5 years:
Average = (1800 + 1890 + 1910 + 1940 + 1960) / 5
= (9500) / 5
= 1900

Step 3: Calculate the absolute difference between each year's production and the average:
2011: |1800 - 1900| = 100
2012: |1890 - 1900| = 10
2013: |1910 - 1900| = 10
2014: |1940 - 1900| = 40
2015: |1960 - 1900| = 60

Step 4: Identify the year(s) with the smallest difference:
The smallest difference is 10, which occurs in 2012 and 2013.

Therefore, the production of B type refrigerator was closest to its average production in both 2012 and 2013.
